My great-grandfather was born in 1890, and his given name was SISHUN. In 1920, he opened the SISHUN Store, marking the beginning of our family’s connection to craftsmanship and trade. The store was later passed down to my grandfather, and then to my father, who continued operating it until 2007.
In 2006, Simon, the current owner and fourth-generation successor, founded Topumbrella and established the first Sishun Umbrella Factory. This marked the beginning of our journey into high-quality umbrella manufacturing, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern production.
In 2008, we officially registered the global trademark Topumbrella. From that point onward, we began manufacturing umbrellas for world-famous brands, museums, retailers, and corporate partners.
As the business expanded, Sishun built a larger and more advanced factory in 2016. This new facility introduced upgraded production lines, improved testing capabilities, and a stronger focus on eco-friendly materials, RPET fabrics, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
In 2025, SISHUN opened a new factory in Cambodia, offering customers more flexible country-of-origin options, tariff advantages, and shorter lead-time solutions. This expansion further strengthened our global supply chain and manufacturing capacity.
Pongee fabric Renowned for its strength, smooth texture, and premium appearance. Fibreglass components Used in many of our frames to deliver outstanding stability, wind resistance, and flexibility.
Most Topumbrella models are built with a flexible windproof system that allows the frame to bend safely in strong winds, preventing broken ribs or canopy damage.
Topumbrella parasols provide outstanding UV protection. This high rating allows users to stay under the sun far longer—up to 50 times longer—compared to being exposed without protection.
At Topumbrella, we operate a fully equipped in-house laboratory to validate every umbrella we manufacture. From frame strength and salt-spray corrosion resistance to UV blocking, wind tunnel performance, waterproof coating and abrasion durability — our scientists and QC teams inspect raw materials and finished goods to guarantee industry-leading reliability and durability.
At Topumbrella, sustainability is built into our manufacturing. Our factories use rooftop solar power, RPET recycled fabrics, wheat-straw and plant-based components, and eco-friendly packaging. From materials to production and energy use, we continuously improve our processes to reduce waste and environmental impact.
