The key structural feature of this umbrella is the reinforced plastic connection between the fiberglass ribs. These flexible joints allow the rib structure to absorb and distribute stress more effectively when exposed to sudden wind pressure. When the canopy is forced inside out, the flexible connections help reduce concentrated stress on individual ribs, lowering the risk of breakage compared with rigid rib connections.
Wind resistance is not simply about making the frame rigid. A frame that can flex and recover is better able to handle sudden changes in wind pressure. The fiberglass ribs combined with flexible plastic connections create a more forgiving structure, allowing the frame to flex under pressure and helping reduce the likelihood of permanent damage or broken ribs when the umbrella is blown inside out.
With a 58.5cm / 23″ rib length and an open diameter of approximately 105cm, this stick umbrella provides generous coverage for everyday outdoor use. The 8-rib configuration distributes canopy tension across the frame, while the fiberglass construction keeps the structure flexible and responsive to wind pressure.
The aluminium shaft provides a lightweight central structure while maintaining the rigidity required for a full-size straight umbrella. A natural wooden handle adds a classic and tactile character to the design, creating a more traditional alternative to standard plastic-handled umbrellas.
The 210T Pongee canopy features a PFAS-free water-repellent treatment, providing dependable rain protection while supporting more responsible material choices. The umbrella supports OEM/ODM customization, including custom canopy colours, canopy printing, logo application and handle colours.
